SUMMARY: ONLY VOTE YES ON #20 and # 22

VERY IMPORTANT:

VOTE NO ON PROP 15!

One of my opponents SUPPORTS Prop 15 stating at the Downtown Business and Professional Association (DBPA) Forum on October 7: "Yes, I do support Proposition 15."

JOE FRANKLIN "NO on Prop 15" RESPONSE FOLLOWS IMMEDIATELY ON THE VIDEO

A YES vote on Prop 15 threatens all MB small businesses by increasing property taxes on commercial properties. These increases, estimated to be three to five times higher, get passed along dollar for dollar by the property owner to the small business and restaurant tenants. After suffering great losses due to the Corona Virus our treasured small businesses and restaurants will face increased financial hardship.

Prop 15 promises only 35-40% of new revenues to our schools. But our MBUSD schools will receive little or no funds due to the Local Control Funding Formula which channels most of the State money to low performing districts. MBUSD is a high performing district. This is why we had to pass a parcel tax and why MBEF is so important to funding special classes.

IMPORTANCE OF PROPOSITIONS AND CANDIDATE'S SUPPORT OF THEM:

Propositions can have an enormous impact on the quality of life for residents of Manhattan Beach.

It's important to know which Propositions support Public Safety and the private property interests of our residents.

We witness the negative impact of Proposition 47, the ballot initiative that made specific types of theft and fraud crimes, including firearm theft, vehicle theft, and unlawful use of a credit card, chargeable as misdemeanors rather than felonies- essentially letting criminals free to commit crimes again and again.

It was written by George Gascon- so don't vote for him for LA County District Attorney.

One of my opponents for the MB City Council endorses George Gascon!

Here are my recommendations for voting on the propositions on the November 3rd ballot:
